Katie established Visits Unlimited in 2011. Her team holds specialist skills in the accessible tourism field. The company operates in the global accessible tourism field with much of their work featuring high on Visit England’s strategic agenda. Katie is a prominent member of the Visit England Think Tank on Accessible Tourism, Associate of the Tourism Society Consultants Network, Fellow of the Centre for Welfare Reform, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. As a parent of a disabled child, Katie delivers her training with great insight, inspiration and passion.
She has worked across the country listening to the views of disabled people and their families for many years and has designed and delivered training courses to reflect the needs and expectations of this audience. She holds a particular passion for ensuring that venues, hotels, attractions increase their confidence and are able to offer those with access needs a warm welcome and deliver excellent customer service to all. Katie led on the Visit England’s Access for All training programme funded by the EU. She trained seven Accessible Destinations in three months and delivered training to over fifty small and large businesses. UK clients include National Trust, English Heritage, Yorkshire Great Houses and Castles, theme parks, hotels and tourist offices. Katie holds a tireless enthusiasm in developing Visits Unlimited’s offer.
